    LAYA is a financial app for travelers! With LAYA, you can access a range of powerful tools to manage your money and transactions wherever you go. LAYA offers a comprehensive suite of financial tools that are perfect for travelers, including prepaid cards, easy load options, withdrawal facilities, transfers, group features and more!
  • How can I create an account?
    To create an account, simply download the app from the stores. Then, register by providing your name, date of birth, and Israeli ID. Next, complete a quick verification process to confirm your identity and eligibility. This involves scanning your passport, proof of address and verifying your personal and address details. You'll also need to approve your shipping address to comply with regulatory conditions. LAYA provides both virtual and physical prepaid Mastercard cards at no additional charge. Once your verification process is complete, you can load funds, make purchases, and perform various financial transactions using the LAYA app and your prepaid Mastercard.
  • Why would I trust LAYA with my money?

  • How to use the app?
    LAYA app offers you a range of powerful tools to manage your money and transactions wherever you go. Once you have created your account, you can quickly load money via credit card, the load can be performed for each of the four currencies (ILS, GBP, EUR, USD), and it will be available for your use right away! You can also perform withdrawals, transfers, exchanges, and request group payments.
  • Does it cost money to create an account?
    No! It is free of charge, the issuance of the virtual & physical cards is 100% free, and so is the account maintenance!
  • What are the login options for accessing the app?
    Once you have completed the registration and verification process, you can log in to the app using either of the following options: Receive an OTP (One-Time Password) via email or SMS and use it for login. Utilize biometric authentication, such as fingerprint or face recognition, depending on the capabilities of your device
  • What does the verification process include?
    The verification process involves several steps to ensure the security of your account and comply with regulatory conditions. It includes the following: Scan your passport and proof of address. Confirm your details and address information. Verify your shipping address. Completing the verification process allows us to create a secure account for you and comply with the regulatory conditions of Israel and Europe. As a result, you'll receive a virtual and physical prepaid Mastercard at no additional charge. Once the verification process is complete, you'll gain access to various features, such as loading funds onto your account, making purchases, and engaging in a wide range of financial transactions.
  • My verification process has failed, what should I do?
    If you have received a message to contact customer service after completing the verification process, it could be due to specific reasons that require further assistance. We recommend contacting the app's customer service team for more information and guidance regarding your verification status. They will be able to provide you with the necessary support and address any concerns you may have.
  • Is it possible to use biometric authentication to log in?
    Absolutely! The biometric authentication option will be enabled once you authenticate by filling in the OTP (One-Time Password) and setting your personal PIN code. For iOS users, you can utilize Face ID, while Android users can take advantage of Touch ID for seamless and secure login.
  • What should I do if I need to restore my PIN code?
    To restore your PIN code, worry not! Simply click the "reset PIN code" or "I forgot my PIN code" option. You will be prompted to provide an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your phone, your ID number, and answer the security question. Once you've completed these steps, you'll be able to set a new PIN code and security answer with ease.
  • Who can I transfer money to, and how can I do it?
    You can transfer money to anyone with an Israeli phone number with LAYA. There are three ways to perform the transfer: Use your available balance: You can transfer money directly from your available balance within the app. Charge your credit card and split the payment: Alternatively, you can charge your credit card and split the payment into up to 12 installments. Use both balance & credit card: if you don’t have enough balance, you can add the missing amount by charging your credit card. These options offer a hassle-free and convenient way to transfer money to individuals.
  • How long does it take for my load to be cleared?
    Your load is cleared instantly. Once your card has been charged, the money will be loaded instantly into your account and will be ready to use right away. There is no waiting period involved, allowing you to access and utilize the funds immediately.
  • What are the LAYA cards?
    LAYA card is a Prepaid card by Mastercard, which comes in both virtual and physical forms, is free to all users, and can be used worldwide with ease, giving you access to your money no matter where your travels take you.
  • What is the difference between the virtual and physical cards?
    Virtual Card: The LAYA virtual card is designed for seamless online shopping. Use it by entering the card details from our app during checkout, just like any other credit or debit card. Physical Card: The LAYA physical card is your tangible companion for in-person transactions. Accepted worldwide wherever Mastercard is welcomed, inserted, tapped, or swiped at the point-of-sale (POS) or withdrawn cash from compatible ATMs. Both virtual and physical cards are linked to your available balance, ensuring transparency without overdraft fees or hidden charges. Load funds onto your LAYA account and wield your card effortlessly wherever and whenever needed.
  • How can I activate my physical card?
    To activate your physical card, follow these simple steps once your physical card arrives: Open the app and click on the card on the ‘My Wallet’ page. Click on "Activate physical card" and insert your PIN code. Enter the CVV (Card Verification Value) on your card's back. Once you've entered the CVV, your card will be successfully activated and ready for use.
  • Can I use my LAYA card even if the currency is not listed on the app?
    Yes! You can use your LAYA card even if the currency you use is not listed on the app. The card can convert your funds into the required money automatically. However, please note that an exchange fee will be applied for the currency conversion in such cases.
  • What to do if my physical card is lost/stolen?
    At LAYA, your card security is our top priority. If you happen to misplace your physical card, fear not! We've got your back. With just a few taps in the app, you can instantly freeze your card. This nifty feature ensures nobody else can use it while you search for it or arrange a replacement. Furthermore, we offer convenient access to your card details and PIN within the app. Need to enter your card details for an online purchase manually? No problem! Want to input your PIN at a point-of-sale terminal? We've got you covered. Simply check the app for all the information you need right at your fingertips. Your peace of mind is our mission at LAYA
  • Can I order a new card?
    If you lose your LAYA physical card and need it replaced, contact our customer service team, and we'll be happy to assist you. Please note that there is a 21 ILS fee for card replacement, so be sure to keep your card safe and secure to avoid any unnecessary charges.
  • How and when will my card be delivered?
    Once you have completed the verification process, your physical card will be sent to you via postal mail. The estimated delivery time is up to 3 business days from the dispatch date.
  • What are the account load limits?
    The account load limits for the LAYA financial app are as follows: Single load limit: 8,500 ILS Daily load limit: 25,000 ILS Monthly load limit: 34,200 ILS Maximum balance limit: 53,500 ILS
  • Are there any limits for transfers and settle-up transactions?
    Yes, there are limits for transfers and settle-up transactions with the LAYA financial app. Users can transfer or settle-up up to 10,000 ILS per 30 days.
  • What are the ATM withdrawal limits?
    The ATM withdrawal limits with the LAYA financial app are as follows: Maximum of 4 withdrawals per day, up to 940 ILS. Maximum of 12 withdrawals within four days, up to 3,400 ILS.
  • What are the purchase limits?
    The purchase limits for using the prepaid Mastercard with the LAYA financial app are: Daily purchase limit: 15 transactions. Maximum purchase amount: 34,200 ILS per 30 days.
  • Why was my transaction rejected?
    There can be multiple reasons for a transaction to be rejected. Some common reasons include insufficient balance in your account, a flagged suspicious transaction, or other security measures in place. We recommend contacting our customer service team within the app to get more detailed information about why your transaction was rejected. They will be able to provide you with specific details and assist you further in resolving any issues related to your transaction.
  • What are the Travel Groups?
    Travel groups are a special feature within the app that allows users to create and manage groups specifically designed for travel-related activities. These groups enable users to invite their friends, collaborate on joint purchases, split bills, send reminders, track credit and debts, settle-up transactions in multiple currencies, and view the balance history within the group and among group members. Travel Groups provide a convenient and organized way for users to coordinate their finances and expenses while traveling together
  • How do I create a group?
    To create a group, follow these steps: Go on the "Group" icon in the navigation bar and click on the "Plus" button or the "Create a group" button. Enter a name and description for the group. Invite your phone contacts to join the group. Please note that the total number of group members is limited to 12, and currently, only phone contacts with Israeli numbers can be invited. Once you have completed these steps, your group will be created, and you can start tracking, managing, and collecting money within your travel group. Creating a group allows you to easily collaborate and coordinate expenses with fellow members, ensuring a smooth and organized travel experience.
  • How do I join a group?
    To join a group, follow these steps: Once you receive a group invitation, you will receive an SMS with a link. Click on the link provided in the SMS to join the group. Alternatively, you can go to the "Groups" page within the app. Look for the group invitation, which will be displayed on the page. Click on "Join group" to accept the invitation and become a group member. You can decline the invitation if you prefer not to join the group.
  • How do I invite members to the group?
    To invite members to your group, follow these steps: Access the group summary page after creating the group. Click on the "Invite Members" button. Select contacts from your phone list with Israeli phone numbers, up to 12 members. Alternatively, you can copy and send the group invitation link to registered users.
  • Can members be removed from the group?
    Yes, only the group admin can remove members from the group. The admin can do this by clicking on the group actions, selecting "Remove a member," and confirming the removal of the relevant member. Please note - that only members without debts or credits in the group can be removed.
  • Can I leave the group after I join?
    Yes, you can leave the group if you don't have any outstanding debts or credits (open requests) within the group.
  • What are the group payment requests?
    Group payment requests are created by group members who hold a LAYA card. There are two types of payment requests: "Split bill" and "Joint purchase." These requests are settled once all the members have made their payments.
  • What is a split bill?
    A split bill is a payment request that arises from a transaction made with the LAYA card. It allows group members to request reimbursement from other members for their share of the transaction expenses.
  • How can I create a split bill?
    You can create a split bill in the following ways: From the transaction detailed page: Go to the transaction details and click the "Split bill" button. From the group creation/group summary. To create a split bill, follow these steps: Choose the relevant group. Select the transaction(s) you want to split. Choose the relevant group members (up to 12) from the group. The amount will be split equally among the selected members, but you can edit the amount if needed. After creating the split bill, a push notification will be sent to the relevant members. The collected money will be loaded to the requested owner's balance in the same currency as the transaction. Please note - only a LAYA cardholder can create a split bill request. This feature allows for easy reimbursement and sharing of expenses within the group.
  • Can a split bill request be edited or canceled?
    A split bill request can be edited or canceled under certain conditions. Here's what you need to know: Editing the split bill request: You can edit the amount assigned to each group member, but you cannot edit the transaction amount itself. This allows for adjustments and additions even after a group member has paid their requested amount. Canceling the split bill request: A split bill request can be canceled as long as it is still open, meaning not all group members have paid their requested amounts. If you cancel the request, the funds will not be returned to the group members. Therefore, carefully considering the decision to cancel a split bill request is essential. These options provide flexibility and control in managing shared expenses within the group.
  • What is a joint purchase?
    A joint purchase is a request created to collect funds from group members for a future purchase. It allows members to contribute money towards a specific expense or item that the group will purchase collectively.
  • How can I create a joint purchase?
    To create a joint purchase, follow these steps: In the group summary page, look for the "Plus" button and click on it. Set the name of the request and specify the requested amount for the joint purchase. Choose the members from the group who will contribute to the purchase (up to 12 members). The requested amount will be split equally between the selected group members but can be edited if needed. After creating the joint purchase, a push notification will be sent to the group members. The collected funds will be loaded to the requested owner's balance in the same currency as the transaction. Please note - that only LAYA cardholders can create joint purchase requests within the group.
  • Can a joint purchase request be edited or canceled?
    A joint purchase request can be edited or canceled under certain conditions. Here are the details: Edit: The total requested amount, and the individual amounts assigned to group members can be edited. However, the paid portion cannot be modified. Even after a group member has settled, you can still edit and add amounts to the request. Cancellation: If the joint purchase request is still open and not all members have paid, you can cancel the request. Remember that if any member has already paid a portion of the requested amount, the request cannot be adjusted to a lower amount than what has been paid. When a joint purchase is canceled, the funds will not be refunded to the group members. It's essential to carefully manage and communicate any changes or cancellations to ensure smooth coordination within the group.
  • What are the payment requests statuses?
    Payment requests (split bill & joint purchase) have four statuses: Open: The request is active and awaiting payment. Edited: Changes have been made to the request. Canceled: The request was canceled before all payments were made. Settled: All payments have been completed. These statuses provide transparency and allow group members to track the progress of payment requests.
  • How can I pay for the payment requests?
    To pay for payment requests within the group, you have a couple of options: Settle-up Button: You can use the "Settle-up" button in the group to make payments. This option allows you to settle up to 10 transactions in a single payment. You can select the specific requests you want to include in the settlement. Pay Button: Alternatively, you can click the "Pay" button within a specific payment request to make the payment. This option is helpful if you want to pay for a particular request without settling multiple transactions. It's worth noting that the same payment can include transactions in different currencies. This flexibility allows you to manage costs across various currencies within the group.
  • How can I track my balances and debts within the group?
    To track your balances and debts within the group, you can navigate to the "My Groups" and "Group Summary" pages in the app. On these pages, you can see how much you owe to other group members and how much they owe you. Additionally, you can view your total spend in the group, which is displayed in USD by default but can be changed to other currencies. You can access your balance history with that member by clicking on a specific group member, including open and closed requests. This allows you to keep track of your financial transactions and obligations within the group.
  • What happens after the members pay for the request?
    Once the group members make their payments, the funds will be added directly to the balance of the request owner. It doesn't matter whether the request is still open, edited, canceled, or settled. Each payment made by the group members will be promptly loaded into the account of the request owner.
  • What are the payment reminders?
    Payment reminders serve as notifications to remind group members who still need to pay for a specific request to fulfill their payment. The request owner can send these reminders intended to prompt the remaining members to make their payments. Payment reminders can be initiated from the group summary page by clicking the "Reminder" button or from a specific payment request.
